Root & Bloom: A Sensory Reset for a Tired Nervous System

Root & Bloom is a slow, restorative gathering for those who are used to holding everything together, built entirely on ayurvedic principles that feel like such a natural fit for the LYBL community. In ayurveda, that constant state of doing and holding has a name: aggravated vata, the energy of air and movement. Left unchecked, it's exactly what shows up as the stress and sleep disruption central to LYBL's own work, the same imbalance found in LYBL's Anxiety & Depression case series, where nervine tonics, warm grounding foods, and a stable rhythm were central to recovery. Root & Bloom brings that same vata-calming philosophy into an experiential, in-person format.

About this event

The 90-minute evening moves attendees out of that state through the senses:

  • Welcome Circle — Arrival, settling in, a moment of grounding together before anything begins.
  • Vagus Nerve Teaching, Humming & Breathwork — A quick, accessible teaching on the vagus nerve and why regulation starts here, paired with prana, the ayurvedic concept of breath as life force, moving through the body via guided humming and breathwork, including bhramari, the ayurvedic "bee breath," to bring the nervous system out of fight-or-flight.
  • Somatic Movement — A shake-out to move stuck energy and remind the body it's allowed to feel good.
  • Tea Ritual — A warm, grounding tea built on ayurvedic herbs, restoring ojas, the body's vital reserve, after a day spent depleting it. We're exploring CCFT to our evening.
  • Set It Down — Writing on a stone what they're ready to release, and setting it down.
  • Flower Arrangement — A hands-on, choose-by-feel flower ritual; each participant builds an arrangement to take home.
  • Closing Circle — A small, warm close, and the feeling of being truly seen.

Everyone leaves with a journal, a flower arrangement they made themselves, and a simple reset they can return to anytime.
